WATCH: Video shows moment before wrong-way crash that killed 2

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio (WJW) — Two people were killed in a late-night wrong-way crash on I-271, according to police.

The crash happened just after midnight on Monday in the lanes at Chagrin Boulevard.

According to a press release from the Pepper Pike Police Department, a 2017 Toyota Tundra had been traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-271 when it collided with a 2024 GMC Truck.

One vehicle caught on fire.

Both drivers were transported to Hillcrest Hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to the release.

Husband and wife hit same deer just seconds apart

Police later identified the drivers as Henry Banks IV, 32, of Bedford Heights, and Curtis Houston, 29, of Garfield Heights. According to police, Houston was the wrong-way driver in the crash.

The northbound lanes were closed for several hours.
