Three people died in two separate road accidents in Varanasi. A man died after being hit by a bus in Rohania. Two teachers died after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Chaubeypur. The Rohania accident happened when the victim was returning from a wedding. The Chaubeypur accident victims were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony.
VARANASI: At least three persons died and two others were injured in two separate incidents on Sunday night. A 37-year-old man, Rakesh Gupta, was crushed to death by a bus in the Rohania area, while two others, Hariom Singh (36) and Randhir Sharma (35), lost their lives in the Chaubeypur area.
According to reports, Rakesh, a resident of Harpur village in the Mirzamurad police station area, was returning home on a motorcycle with his uncle and niece after attending a wedding event.
Near the petrol pump on GT Road in Shahawabad, Rohania, a speeding car hit the motorcycle from the front, causing the uncle and niece to fall to the left side of the road, while Rakesh fell to the right side and was crushed by the bus heading from Varanasi to Rajatalab.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Rohania SO Vivek Kumar Shukla and Mohan Sarai outpost in-charge Jitendra Kumar arrived at the scene and sent all three injured individuals to the govt hospital in Panditpur for treatment, where doctors declared Rakesh dead.
The police took possession of the deceased's body and sent it for post-mortem.
In another incident, Hariom and Randhir, both teachers at an intercollege, were hit by a speeding vehicle at Dubkiya market in the Chaubeypur area.
They lost their lives in this incident. They were residents of the Sarnath area and were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred.
