Ranchi: Ranchi: The district administration would file FIRs against six poll personnel, who failed to report for duty on November 12 during the dispatch for the first phase of the assembly election. Suspension orders have also been issued against 24 others, including bank employees, teachers, and public sector unit (PSU) staff.
The administration had issued show-cause notices to 273 polling personnel for remaining absent from duty. Of the 140 responses received, 30 were deemed unsatisfactory, resulting in disciplinary action taken against them. The remaining 133 personnel have been given 24 hours to explain their absence.
"The step shows our commitment towards maintaining electoral integrity," said an official.
Meanwhile, another 97 poll personnel were issued show-cause notices for unauthorised absence from training sessions held for the second phase of polls. The administration warned them of similar consequences, if satisfactory explanations are not provided, in accordance with the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
A statement issued by the administration said, "Our proactive approach aims to ensure total attendance and preparedness of polling personnel, strengthening public confidence in poll process."
