Prayagraj: Ahead of the Maha kumbh, the authorities of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation are set to launch roadways porters services to assist visitors at bus stations.
MK Trivedi, Regional Manager (UPSRTC), said, "Roadways porters will be imparted special training. They will not only help with luggage but also provide basic information about transportation options and routes to the Mah Kumbh."
He adds, "These porters will work in two shifts of eight hours each. They will be provided uniforms, blue pants and shirts. Additionally, a brass badge with their identification number will be attached to their sleeve."
To ensure quality service, the roadways department has checked the porters' backgrounds, including verifying their identity with Aadhaar cards. The first batch of 16 porters is being trained at the Civil Lines Roadways bus stand. Prayagraj's Civil Lines Bus Station sees the arrival and departure of 118 buses daily, with more than 1.5 lakh roadways passengers passing through the station. To ensure smooth travel for all, roadways porters will be available to assist passengers, especially senior citizens and differently-abled travellers.tnn
