Amritsar: The Amritsar commissionerate of police has claimed to have busted a transborder narcotics smuggling and arms cartel, with the arrest of two persons and seizure of 3.5kg of heroin, 1.5kg of methaqualone, and two pistols, including one 9mm glock, from their possession. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday that they have arrested Vansh alias Billa (23), a resident of Billai Wala Chowk in Amritsar, and Sonu Chaurasia (20), a resident of Dashmesh Nagar in Amritsar. Amritsar commissioner of police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said police arrested Vansh from Mohkampura and seized 3.5kg heroin, 1.5kg methaqualone powder and an Austria-made 9mm Glock handgun. In related news, police teams nabbed Sonu Chaurasia from Suncity turn at Batala road in Mohkampura area and seized a pistol from him. tnn
