Ara: A 36-year-old assistant manager of a state-run died by suicide early Monday at his rented house in the Jagdevnagar locality of Ara, Bhojpur district, over an alleged domestic strife with his wife.
The deceased – Sujai Saha, a resident of North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal – was posted at the Charpokhari bazaar branch of the bank. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house.
Talking to the TOI, the Nawada police station house officer (SHO) Vipin Bihari said, "As per our initial investigation, Saha had a bitter quarrel with his wife Monday morning. After the quarrel, he locked up his wife in a room and died by suicide in another room."
Saha's wife managed to unlock the door and found out that the other room was locked from inside, he said, adding. "Despite knocking repeatedly, the door was not opened. She raised an alarm and the house owner informed the police about the incident."
The police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital in Ara or post-mortem.
The SHO added that a probable suicide note written in Bengali has been found in a notebook. "However, since it has been written in Bengali, we have not been able to interpret it exactly. His wife also speaks only in Bengali. We are trying to ascertain the reason behind the suicide."
Further investigation of the case is going on till the filing of a report, Vipin added.
