Jaisalmer: Independent MLA from Sheo, Ravindra Singh Bhati on Saturday claimed that Jaisalmer's administration was being influenced by ‘Ahmedabad rather than Jaipur', alleging collusion between govt officials and the Adani Solar Power Energy Company.
Expressing concerns over shifting administrative control from Jaipur to Gujarat, the MLA accused local govt officials of bias in favour of the company.
The conflict revolves around the company's development in Baiya village, Jaisalmer, where negotiations between the district collector and the protesters have repeatedly failed. On Friday, after talks proved unproductive, Bhati and local residents blocked construction equipment and staged an overnight protest at the project site in the desert terrain.
On Saturday, Bhati and villagers met district collector Pratap Singh Nathawat, but discussions again reached a deadlock, prompting the MLA to resume protests.
