Navi Mumbai, 16th November 2024: The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) recently hosted an advanced food safety and management training program in partnership with FSSAI. The event, held on November 11 at DY Patil Deemed to Be University’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies in Navi Mumbai, aimed at improving food safety practices within the hospitality industry.
The Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advanced Catering (FoSTaC) saw 39 students participate, focusing on essential topics like food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and waste management. The program provided hands-on training to equip participants with the skills needed to enforce strong food safety protocols in their future careers.
Key figures at the inauguration included Dr. Pasupathy V, Trainer; Aarti Pandirkar, Vice Principal; Padmaja Binakar, Assistant Professor of Catering Science from DY Patil University; and Manasi Parab, Admin Assistant from HRAWI.
To date, HRAWI has trained and certified 3,208 professionals and students through FoSTaC and its Management Training Program, continuing to raise food safety standards across the sector.
