Hyderabad: Telangana BJP state president G Kishan Reddy said he would stay overnight in the catchment area of Musi on Saturday. Referring to chief minister A Revanth Reddy's challenge that he would scrap the Musi project if opposition leaders lived near the river for three months, Kishan said that BJP leaders were ready to do that too if required.
"We are not against the Musi rejuvenation project or cleaning it. But the party is against bulldozing houses belonging to the poor and evacuating them. Earlier, ex-CM K Chandrasekhar Rao promised to make Musi as pure as coconut water, but he left without doing anything. Now, Revanth, except for dismantling houses of the poor and instigating farmers of Nalgonda, has done nothing," Kishan Reddy told media on Friday.
He said the Congress was following the footsteps of the previous BRS govt in governance. Earlier, KCR govt borrowed 8 lakh crore in 10 years. Now, Congress govt has borrowed thousands of crores but failed to implement its six guarantees even after being in power for almost a year, he said. He alleged that the Congress was using Telangana as its ATM.
"The Congress leaders are spreading lies during Maharashtra assembly poll campaigning, saying that Telangana govt fulfilled its promises and everything is fine in Telangana, which is totally false," Kishan Reddy said.
The Union minister faulted the Congress govt for Kodangal pharma village issue and said the govt resorted to forcible land acquisition
