Coimbatore: Eighteen dhabas were sealed in the city on Friday for illegally selling liquor.
Police have been tracking down illegal sales of alcohol in dhabas across Annur, Kovilpalayam, Sulur, Karumathampatti and Chettipalayam station limits.
Of the 60 dhabas in these areas, 18 were found serving liquor without proper permits.
However, a few dhabas in Sulur were awaiting orders from the district collector. Of the 41 restaurants raided, 11 have been found selling liquor without permits. Police seized more than 100 bottles from these restaurants.
