Mysuru: Union minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday demanded an SIT probe into chief minister Siddaramaiah's accusation that BJP attempted to bribe 50 Congress MLAs with Rs 50 crore each to destabilise the state govt.
Kumaraswamy, while questioning the credibility of such allegations, urged the govt to investigate the claims. "Such statements shouldn't be made as they look like the ones given by buffoons," Kumaraswamy remarked.
Siddaramaiah had made the startling claim on Wednesday, alleging that BJP offered bribes to Congress MLAs, although none accepted the offer.
He also accused the BJP of framing him in false cases, including the Muda site allotment scam.
BJP state president BY Vijayendra dismissed Siddaramaiah's allegations, calling them baseless. "The CM should fear his own ministers, as they are the ones ‘conniving' behind his back to remove him from power," Vijayendra asserted.
