Bengaluru: Lokayukta cops arrested a police inspector Friday on charges of asking his aide to take Rs 2 lakh from a woman in return for an official favour. The accused inspector is Arun Kumar GV, attached to Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force.
Lokayukta sleuths caught Kumar's associate Nandish at Rashtrothana Circle in Thanisandra with the cash. "In his confession statement, Nandish said he collected Rs 2 lakh from the woman on Kumar's directions," a press note issued by Lokayukta said.
The note said Kumar had demanded a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from the woman and agreed to take Rs 2 lakh as advance to close the case.
