Embed GPS tracker in mobile phone (any software) ?

My mom (68 years) is going to visit few temples in Rajasthan, along-with relatives/friends.
First time she will be going without us (any of family member)

I want to install a software in her mobile which can work like a gps tracker.. we will call her and ask to turn her location on when needed or she can do same.
 
You can use find my phone for android or ios to get the device location, you can use family link to ensure that location is not disabled

Another option is to share the location via Google Maps.
 
Track My Trip Has real time sharing.
EU based app so it adheres to EU standards of privacy. Though they have written for USA, Asia users, they will respect respective countries privacy regulations.

I use google maps to share locations indefinitely among family members. But members have to open Maps app after a fixed period of time to continue updating the location (On iOS especially), otherwise it just shows the member offline.
Is there a way to continue updating the location without having to open Maps?
 
Doesn't WhatsApp have live location sharing
 
several years ago used IFTTT, send sms to target mobile number, get its gps location back as sms.

Can you share more details, using IFTTT ONLY for productivity.
Not sure if we can do these
 
Achieved this via Google maps.
Now i only need to ask person on other end to enable there location.
