Rohtak: Haryana cooperation minister Dr Arvind Sharma launched a scathing attack on the Congress during the state-level Cooperative Week celebrations at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Friday. The minister accused the Congress workers of misleading the public with false narratives and labelled them as shifting from the “gulabi (pink) gang” to “kilkari gang,” referring to their efforts to spread hopes of the return of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's govt.
“They went from village to village, creating noise about a Hooda resurgence and misled the poor by alleging that the Constitution would be abolished. However, elections were conducted transparently, and there was no wrongdoing,” he claimed.
Dr Sharma, who also oversees the Prisons and Tourism departments, strongly criticized the Congress for its repeated claims about EVM tampering. He stated, “Their minds are stuck on the idea of EVM malfunctions, and this narrative will persist for the next 20 years. In 2019, I won the Rohtak parliamentary seat by 7,500 votes, and they accused EVMs of tampering. Now that Congress has won Lok Sabha seats, where has that narrative gone? When they win five seats, EVMs are fine, but when they lose, they cry foul.”
On concerns about fertiliser shortages, he pointed out that chief minister Nayab Singh Saini had addressed the issue comprehensively in a recent two-hour-and-forty-minute assembly speech.
