BENGALURU: City police booked and arrested a 27-year-old history sheeter facing more than 15 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, and extortion.
He was booked under the Goonda Act The accused is Mohammed Shabaz, alias Mohammed Farhan, a resident of Sarvajnanagar, Shampura Main Road. There were at least six non-bailable warrants issued by the courts against him, police records say.
Those arrested under the Goonda Act will be imprisoned for one year without the possibility of bail. However, such persons can challenge the booking by approaching the high court.
Arrested on November 14, Mohammed Shabaz was sent to Ballari district prison.
