The voters in Maharashtra are all set to exercise their franchise in the state Assembly elections 2024 next week. All the 288 constituencies of the state will go into polls in a single phase on November 20. The second phase of polling for the Jharkhand Assembly elections will also be held on the same day.
In the first phase, voting was held for 43 of the 81 Assembly segments in Jharkhand. The voter turnout was registered at 64.86 per cent. In the second phase of polling, on November 20, the remaining 38 seats will go into polls.
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, it is a straight fight between the ruling Mahayuti, which includes the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the alliance of the Congress, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction.
On the other hand, it’s a direct fight between the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and BJP-led alliances in the state.
The voters need to carry their Voter IDs or valid documents to the polling booth in order to cast their votes. The polling will be held between 7 am and 5 pm in both the states.
