Chennai: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) on Thursday condemned former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for her comments that the actor-turned-politician and MNM founder Kamal Haasan renounced his titles following threats from DMK. In a statement on Thursday, MNM public relations officer Murali Abbas said Tamilisai must learn from her leaders that Kamal Haasan was not a person who could be intimidated by threats.
"Our leader does not yield to threats," he said. He said Tamilisai, who cannot predict her future, attempted to comment on Kamal's decision. She gave up the governor post with a dream of becoming an MP and later union minister. Abbas said Tamilisai must realise DMK govt does not indulge in intimidation tactics. "Our leader's decision to renounce titles was the outcome of wisdom he gained. It is an expression of a mature and successful man," he said. He said it was sad Tamilisai was not mature enough to understand Kamal Haasan's decision. TNN
