Ranchi: Schools in the state capital commemorated Children's Day by celebrating the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly called ‘Chacha Nehru'. The celebrations included various activities such as games, dance programmes and cultural events.
At Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamli, teachers presented poetry recitals and narrated inspiring tales about Nehru during the morning assembly. The younger pupils watched "The Jungle Book", whilst the senior students participated in outdoor painting sessions, creating artworks dedicated to ‘Chacha Nehru'.
DAV Public School Hehal organised entertaining competitions, including a cricket match between educators and pupils. During a special morning assembly, students discussed Nehru's principles and his fondness for children. Principal S K Mishra stressed the significance of seeking inspiration from distinguished leaders and acknowledged teachers' crucial role in development of students.
Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi, organised a special assembly alongside numerous activities. The programme included an animated film screening and outdoor activities focusing on collaboration and physical fitness. Principal Paramjit Kaur encouraged students to embrace continuous learning whilst preserving their youthful spirit.
