Hyderabad: BJP Telangana has registered around 35 lakh members in the state, and an additional five lakh through missed call facility.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, BJP membership drive in charge and former MLC N Ramchander Rao, said, "By Nov 25, we aim to reach 45-50 lakh members, and we will continue to accept members even after reaching the target."
According to him, membership registration was progressing rapidly in light of BJP organisational elections. Committees for organisational elections, nomination acceptance, and other related activities, including an active membership team and returning officers' team, have been established.
Yendala Laxminarayana would be the returning officer in the state, while Dharmarao and Veerender Goud were in the active membership team. "Various BJP wings are participating in the membership registration drive. The organisational election process will begin after Nov 25," he added
Rao alleged that Congress in Telangana failed to fulfil the guarantees given to the people and lost their trust. "The state govt failed in areas such as the Hyderabad Musi project, land acquisition, and procurement of farmers' produce. BJP will intensify its fight against the anti-people policies of the Congress govt."
