Kanpur: A mentally unstable man jumped into a pond near Rawal Devi Temple in Sarsaul town, under the jurisdiction of Narwal police station on Friday. By the time some bystanders rescued him, he was dead. SO Narwal police station Rajesh Singh said that the deceased was identified as Sonu (30), son of Nekpal. Sonu was under treatment for mental health issues for several years, said the official. He took the extreme step due to his psychological condition. The authorities have sent the body for post-mortem examination. tnn
