Tirupur: The Dharapuram police on Wednesday arrested a private school hostel warden for sexually harassing 17 schoolboys for the past few months and another senior warden of the same hostel for not taking action against the first accused, despite receiving complaints from students.
A police officer identified the arrested duo as Saran, 25, and Rambabu, 34, wardens with a matriculation higher secondary school's hostel at Dharapuram.
He said it was Saran who sexually harassed the students. "We arrested him after we received a complaint from the students' parents. We also arrested Rambabu, senior hostel warden, for not taking action against Saran despite receiving complaints from students."
