Jamshedpur/Gumla: Following an intense month of political campaigning, candidates in Jamshedpur found respite on Thursday after voting concluded for 14 assembly constituencies in the Kolhan division on Wednesday. Different candidates chose varied ways to unwind, with some spent time amongst party workers, whilst others engaged in leisure activities like playing music or reading.
Ajoy Kumar, Jamshedpur (East) candidate of Congress, started his morning with tea at his residence. The former IPS spent time playing guitar before meeting party workers and supporters. Congress candidate of Jamshedpur West and state health minister Banna Gupta dedicated his day to party workers and cleared pending tasks at his office.
Saryu Roy, JD(U) candidate from Jamshedpur (West), began his day with yoga and visited Bhuvaneswari temple. He also met party workers at his Bistupur residence. BJP's Jamshedpur (East) candidate, Purnima Sahu said she spent time with her daughter besides meeting party workers. Independent candidate Shivshankar Singh chose to spend the day with family members.
In Gumla, political candidates and their supporters were observed analysing potential vote counts across booths, blocks and constituencies on Thursday. "We paused for voting day. Now we're back to our duties. The election outcome remains uncertain for us," said Kheto Oraon, a mason. Politicians and their associates were busy collecting field reports from party workers and supporters "We concentrated on getting reports from our village level workers on phones. Our position (JMM) is better here and INDIA bloc is going to win again in the state," stated Congress leader Belsajar Minj. Bhola Prasad, a close associate of BJP Gumla candidate Sudarshan Bhagat said, "We have succeeded in getting our targeted rural votes and results will be in our favour."
