Lucknow: After almost two decades, Lucknow University's tennis team has reached the quarterfinals of the All-India Inter-University Championship 2024 (North Zone) in Murthal, Haryana. More than 30 universities are participating in the event.
LU is represented by Iram Zaidi, Sasa Katiyar, Vartika, Anuj Kumar, Amit, Rahul, and Nikhil. The team will face Delhi University in their quarterfinal clash. "It's a proud moment for us that our students have made it to the quarterfinals by giving their best. This achievement comes after a very long gap," said Professor Ajay Kumar Arya, secretary of the Lucknow University Athletic Association.
He added that the university was working hard to provide the best sports infrastructure for its students. The credit for this remarkable performance in sports goes to the hard work of the students and Shyam Kishore, president of lawn tennis.
Meanwhile, LU vice-chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Rai expressed his happiness over this achievement and extended his best wishes for the upcoming matches.
