Bengaluru: The special investigation team probing multiple cases against BJP MLA from RR Nagar, N Muniratna, arrested an inspector Thursday on charges of aiding the lawmaker and his associates in a honey-trap case.
The arrested inspector is Ayyanna Reddy, attached to Hebbugodi police station in Bengaluru Rural. A posse of SIT cops picked Reddy from the station Thursday afternoon and shifted him to Bowring Hospital for a test.
According to sources, Reddy is a close aide of Muniratna and played a vital role in honey-trapping the lawmaker's rivals.
The alleged honey-trapping came to the fore when a 40-year-old woman filed a criminal case against Muniratna at Kaggalipura police station, accusing him of raping her and later using her to honey-trap others.
