Ludhiana: A 37-year-old woman was injured during a violent purse snatching on her way home with her son from school.
Gurjeet Kaur, a resident of Sunder Nagar, lodged a complaint with Division Number 1 police after an unidentified man on a scooter snatched her purse, causing her to lose balance and fall from their scooter. The incident occurred outside a post office near AC Market, where Kaur was picking up her son.
Kaur reported that the assailant approached them and forcefully grabbed her crossbody bag. As a result of the struggle, she suffered significant injuries to her face and head, while her son narrowly escaped harm.
The investigating officer, ASI Baljinder Singh from Division Number 1 police station, confirmed that a case has been registered against the unknown suspect for snatching. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the perpetrator. This incident is part of a troubling trend in Ludhiana.
