Lucknow: At least five men barged into the house of a couple posted in the anti-terrorist squad of the Uttar Pradesh police and assaulted them in Krishnanagar, police said.
Lodging an FIR in this connection, the woman said, "My husband and I work in the ATS. Around 8pm on Nov 11, Ankit Yadav, who lives in the same area and has opened a shop near our house, reached my residence which his associates and started abusing me."
"When my husband intervened, they entered our house with rods, molesting me and tore my clothes. They abused and assaulted us," she said.
"Anu Yadav, who lives in the neighbourhood, turned the attackers out. When we tried to Dial 112, they threatened us. They kept sitting outside the house and kept threatening us that they would kill us. Cases are already registered against Ankit in Krishnanagar and Sarojininagar police stations," she said.
"Ankit and his associates said that they beat the police with shoes. They are tarnishing the dignity of the police department. The entire incident is captured on CCTV," she said.
Police said that the couple had a dispute with Ankit over passage area.
DCP, south zone, Keshav Kumar said efforts were ongoing to trace the accused.
