Children’s Day is observed on November 14, marking the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Nehru was a visionary leader and an exemplary statesman who laid the foundation for India’s growth after independence. He was born on this day in 1889 into a Kashmiri Brahmin family in Allahabad (now Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh.
