Ahmedabad: The National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday issued strict guidelines mandating that all state govts to conduct PG admissions only through online platforms, declaring any offline admissions invalid and warning of seat reductions for non-compliance in any medical colleges.
Following a long delay, authorities announced the admission schedule for both all-India quota and state quota for MD-MS and dental seats. The NMC's public notice clearly prohibits individual colleges and institutions from conducting independent PG admissions. Institutions found in violation of these regulations will face serious consequences, including the declaration of admissions as illegal and a reduction in their postgraduate seats allocation for following years.
The commission statement said that its website now displays comprehensive information regarding PG seat availability, occupancy, and merit criteria for 2023 across all medical colleges. Sources said that the NMC directive comes in response to previous instances where certain colleges misinterpreted regulations to conduct independent admissions. The NMC also advised students and their families to adhere strictly to the prescribed admission protocols.
