Kerala's health department is geared up for the pilgrimage season, deploying doctors, health workers, and multilingual staff across major routes to Sabarimala. Pilgrims are advised to prioritize their health, carrying necessary medications, staying hydrated, and seeking immediate medical attention when needed.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister Veena George said the state health department prepared extensive arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage season. The services of doctors from the health service and medical college hospitals, as well as expert volunteer health workers, are ensured. Health department services are available on all major Sabarimala routes.
"Everyone should strictly follow the health department's guidelines. The control centre at Pamba will operate 24 hours a day. Services of health workers and multilingual staff are assured here. If you experience any difficulties during the trekking, you should seek treatment at the nearest health centre. Awareness has been strengthened in various languages such as Malayalam, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada," the minister said.
Things to Remember:
Those currently undergoing treatment for various ailments should carry their medical records and medications during the visit to the temple. Do not stop taking your regular medications during fasting. To avoid health issues while trekking, start light exercises like walking days before the visit. Climb slowly and take breaks in between. If you experience fatigue, weakness, chest pain, or breathing difficulty while climbing, stop and seek medical help immediately.
