Gandhinagar: The state govt has made changes in the process of approval of proposals for conversion of land from agricultural to non-agricultural (NA), empowering district collectors to approve the collection of premium for NA certification for land valuation of up to Rs 5 crore in the case of bona fide purchasers.
An official statement said the state govt took the decision to expedite the approval of proposals for the conversion of land from agricultural to non-agricultural purposes at the district and state levels in cases of bona fide purchasers. According to the current state regulations, bona fide purchasers must obtain mandatory approval at the state level for land valuations exceeding 50 lakh rupees.
"To address the increasing number of such purchase applications and the resulting delays at various stages of the approval process, CM Bhupendra Patel made a significant decision aimed at decentralising authority," an official statement said on Thursday.
Accordingly, the resolution of the revenue department dated March 17, 2017, has been modified, and in the case of bona fide purchasers, the authority to approve premium collection for land valuation up to Rs 5 crore has been delegated to the district collectors.
The statement said that as a result of the decision, applications from bona fide purchasers will be processed more swiftly, accelerating the entire procedure and consequently speeding up the development process.
