Chennai: Three days after the arrest of a 28-year-old television actor on charges of possessing five grams of methamphetamine, a special team arrested two of her associates, including one from Bengaluru, for supplying her the drug.
On Saturday, police arrested K Esther alias Meena, 28, of Kovilambakkam, outside a shopping mall in Royapettah based on a tip-off and recovered five grams of methamphetamine from her. Police said she acted in small roles in Tamil films and television serials.
On Tuesday, the special team arrested Tyson of Bengaluru and Pavan of Chandigarh. Pavan supplied methamphetamine and Tyson supplied Esther with Malana cream (a cannabis strain grown in the Malana valley of Himachal Pradesh). The two were remanded in judicial custody.
Police have called upon people to call 78710 78100 to tip off officers about the sale and consumption of narcotic drugs.
