Hisar: Police have arrested a 52-year-old acting principal of a govt school for allegedly molesting minor girls of Class X. He will be produced in court on Wednesday, DSP Adarshdeep Singh said.
Police said that after recording the statements of 9 minor girls, a case had been registered against the acting principal under Sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, Section 10 (aggravated sexual assault), 12 (sexual harassment) of POCSO Act and SC/ST Act.
Villagers alleged that two students had complained of the teacher touching them inappropriately and seven others accused him of carrying out obscene acts. “He used to warn them against informing anyone about his behaviour and even slapped them when they protested,” villagers alleged. The students said that on Nov 8, the teacher played obscene songs in his car while taking them to a govt programme.
Accusing him of being a repeat offender — he has allegedly been involved in similar incidents thrice in different schools — villagers had threatened to launch a protest if he was not sacked.
