Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority will soon launch a campaign to remove illegal occupations from its land. Following directives of LDA vice president Prathamesh Kumar, a survey of vacant acquired land was conducted, in which approximately 90 bighas of land was identified and was found encroached in areas like Gomtinagar Extension, Aliganj, Janakipuram and Basant Kunj. Total value of this land is around Rs 800 crore.
The survey revealed illegal occupations such as dairies, nurseries, motor garages and commercial shops in the Basant Kunj, Gomtinagar and Janakipuram areas. Many of these plots of land were encroached upon by boundary walls or illegal businesses.
Kumar said legal proceedings were already initiated in some cases, while a dedicated team would be formed to clear the land and ensure smooth enforcement, with police support to avoid any obstacles during the operation.
