New Delhi: Nineteen policemen, including a woman constable, were sent to the district line after they failed to control crime in their areas. The action was taken in Shahdara district. Sources said that the action affected officers holding the ranks of assistant sub-inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, and constables. A source said that action was taken on the basis of their performance report on controlling crime in their respective areas. A source revealed that these cops consistently failed to curb robberies, snatchings, and motor vehicle thefts within their respective police station jurisdictions. Despite previous warnings regarding their subpar performance, they were unable to demonstrate any significant improvement.
"As a result, a decision was made to send them to the district line for a minimum period of six months," the source said. TNN
