Jharkhand Election Latest Updates: Altogether 683 candidates - 609 men, 73 women and a third gender person - are in the fray in 43 seats.

A total of 65.27% voting was recorded in the first phase of elections for the 43 Assembly seats out of 81 in Jharkhand on Wednesday (November 13). Out of 15 districts, Lohardaga recorded highest voting percentage at 73.21%, while Ranchi saw lowest at 60.49%.


A total of 1.37 crore voters out of the total 2,60 crore were eligible to participate in the voting on November 13. Altogether 683 candidates - 609 men, 73 women and a third gender person - are in the fray in 43 seats. Out of the 43, 17 seats are reserved for general, 20 for scheduled tribes and 6 seats for scheduled castes.

A total of 15,344 polling stations were set up for the first phase of elections. Out of them, 12,716 booths were located in rural areas and 2,628 booths in urban areas.

#Over 65% voting recorded in first phase, Lohardaga recorded highest voting percentage at 73.21%, while Ranchi saw lowest at 60.49%.

#Over 64.86% voter turnout recorded till 5 pm

# 59.28% voter turnout registered till 3 pm

# Serailkela-Kharsawan district registered the highest voter turnout at 66.38%, followed by Lohardaga (65.99%), Gumla (64.59%) and Simdega (64.31%).

Khunti recorded 63.35% voting, followed by Latehar (62.81%), Garhwa (61.06%) and West Singhbhum (60.35%).

Ramgarh recorded 59.22% polling, East Singhbhum (58.72%), Chatra (58.23%), Chatra (45.76%) and Koderma (58.13%).

Hazaribag recorded 57.16%, Palamu (56.57%), while Ranchi district saw the lowest 53.40% turnout till 3 pm.

# 29.31% voter turnout recorded till 11 am.

# Jharkhand CM and JMM candidate Hemant Soren says "Today, we have cast our votes at our respective polling stations. I appeal to the people of Jharkhand to come out and cast their votes to strengthen the democracy of the country."



# Nearly 13.04% voter turnout was recorded till 9 AM.

# Voting begins in 43 seats in Jharkhand.

# In the first phase, voting will be held on November 13 from 7 am to 5 pm. However, in 950 booths, the voting time will end at 4 pm, though people standing in the queue at that time will be able to vote.

# Voting for the second phase will take place on November 20.
