Jaipur: Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated legal proceedings against a man who drove an SUV over railway tracks between Kanakpura and Dhankya railway stations in Jaipur division. According to the railways, the vehicle was seized, and the driver was identified following the incident, which occurred on Monday evening.
RPF has charged the man under multiple sections of the Railway Act. The incident came to notice when the SUV got stuck in the railway tracks and the loco pilot of an approaching goods train saw it. The loco pilot halted the train and communicated the obstruction to railway officials via wireless. By the time RPF personnel arrived at the scene, the driver had managed to free his vehicle from the tracks and had fled. However, he abandoned the SUV about four kilometres away. The incident was captured on video, and it quickly spread across social media platforms.
Sources said the accused has been identified. They did not rule out the possibility of him being drunk at the time of the incident and said more details will be revealed once he is arrested.tnn
