Two women, Kukka Amrutha and Kukka Bhagya, were tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on Rajiv Rahadari in Peddapalli early Tuesday morning. The victims, along with another woman who sustained injuries, were struck by a speeding car while walking home from work at a function hall. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved.
HYDERABAD: 2 women died and another was injured after a car rammed into them near Rangampalli on Rajiv Rahadari in Peddapalli in the early hours of Tuesday.
Around 5am, the three women, who worked at a function hall on Monday night, came out to go home. They were residents of Udayanagar. However, while they were walking on the road, they were hit by a speeding car, police said.
While two of them, Kukka Amrutha and Kukka Bhagya, died on the spot, another woman, Kukka Padma, suffered injuries. Police were checking CCTV footage to identify the erring vehicle.
Kukka Padma, who was admitted to govt hospital, said she was hurled to a distance due to the impact of the collision. She said when she got up, she looked around and saw two bodies at a distance. Police, who arrived at the scene, shifted the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem examination. tnn
