Residents of Rohini Sectors 6, 7, and 8 in Delhi experienced water disruptions on Tuesday morning due to the Delhi Jal Board's installation of a flow meter at a booster pumping station. The installation, part of DJB's ongoing effort to enhance water auditing, resulted in a temporary halt in water supply to facilitate the integration of the new meter.

NEW DELHI: Water supply may be affected in Rohini Sectors 6, 7, and 8 on Tuesday morning. Delhi Jal Board is installing a flow meter at a booster pumping station in Rohini. "Due to the installation of a flow meter at the 700mm diameter outlet line of Rohini Sector 7 BPS, water supply will not be available in the evening of Nov 11 and may be in the morning of Nov 12," DJB stated.
DJB supplies water to around 27 lakh customers across the city. The board installs electromagnetic flow meters, which are fitted at the outlet of the plant and inlet of underground reservoirs, to achieve the target of real-time audit of the water supplied.
Installation of flow meters has been going on for the past few years. "The flow meters are installed at the inlet and outlet at each of the district metering areas. The project has been going on. When this meter is installed, water supply is stopped," said a DJB official.
