Hisar: A 52-year-old acting principal of a govt school in a Haryana village has been booked for allegedly molesting nine minor girls of Class X over a period of two months.
The FIR has been filed on the complaint of villagers and after recording the statements of the girls. While villagers handed over the accused to the police, police said the “arrest would be made only after paperwork was completed and statements of the victims recorded before a magistrate”.
Villagers alleged that two students had complained of the teacher touching them inappropriately and seven others accused him of carrying out obscene acts. “He used to warn them against informing anyone about his behaviour and even slapped them when they protested,” villagers alleged. The students said that on Nov 8, the teacher played obscene songs in his car while taking them to a govt programme.
Accusing him of being a repeat offender — he has allegedly been involved in similar incidents thrice in different schools — villagers threatened to launch a protest if he was not sacked.
He was booked under Sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment) of BNS, Sections 10 (aggravated sexual assault) and 12 (sexual harassment) of POCSO Act and SC/ST Act.
