New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to LG VK Saxena, urging an investigation into alleged financial irregularities in the power distribution companies. It also accused AAP govt of helping the discoms score undue financial gains.
AAP, however, said BJP had a "pre-set agenda" of gaining control over the resources and handing them over to "industrialist friends". After meeting LG, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said it was ironic that there were three power discoms in Delhi that purchase and sell electricity at the same rates, but one consistently made a profit while the other two continued to operate at a loss.
"We met the LG and demanded an inquiry into the role of Arvind Kejriwal and AAP govt in providing windfall gains to discoms in Delhi and seeking recovery of the Delhi govt utilities with power distribution companies," Sachdeva said. AAP claimed if BJP formed govt in Delhi, electricity here would be as costly as in other states governed by it.
