Patna: A head-on collision between two speeding trucks at Vikram in the limits of Naubatpur police station in Patna district claimed the life of one of the drivers on Tuesday morning.
Confirming the incident, Naubatpur station house officer (SHO) Rajnish Kumar Kesari said that another truck driver, who too was injured, fled from the spot.
The impact of the crash was so severe that it took a police team and local residents about an hour to recover the body of the deceased driver, identified as Kamlesh Kumar (30), a resident of Jharkhand's Palamu district.
The SHO said the family members of the deceased driver were informed about the accident.
The incident occurred on Naubatpur-Bikram road around 7am, after which traffic remained disrupted for a long time on the spot. The police had to take help of an excavator to remove both vehicles and resume the traffic flow.
Local people said that the speed of both the vehicles was very high.
Police have sent the body to AIIMS-Patna for postmortem examination.
