Ludhiana: Morning fog, coupled with poor air quality, is affecting visibility in the city. The meteorological department has predicted foggy conditions for at least two more days.
According to the MET department report, minimum visibility in Ludhiana was recorded at 600 metres at 8.30am on Monday. Minimum visibility was recorded at the same level a day before as well. The department said that at 11.30am on Monday, visibility was recorded between 1,000 metres and 2,000 metres. It was hazy around 2.30am as well and visibility remained between 1,000 and 2000 metres.
The forecast for the next two days is, “Fog/mist in the morning and mainly clear sky later.” For Thursday and Friday, the forecast is, partly cloudy weather. The weather department said that day temperature in Ludhiana was expected to increase to 29 degrees Celsius by Wednesday and fall to 27 degrees Celsius by Sunday, while night temperature is expected to fall to 15 degrees Celsius by Thursday.
Meanwhile, the impact of smoggy weather was witnessed on the maximum (day) temperature in city which was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.2 degrees less than normal.
