Patiala: Farm organisation BKU (Bhatedikalan) on Monday stopped traffic on a national highway in Patiala for four hours. The blockade was laid on the Patiala-Chandigarh highway near Bahadurgarh from 2pm to 6pm, resulting in substantial traffic congestion.
Commuters encountered significant difficulties.
Jang Singh Bhatedi, BKU (Bhatedikalan) president, said the blockade had been laid in protest against govt’s inability to ensure seamless paddy procurement. “Authorities are giving excuses,” he said. tnn
