Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday took on the Congress as he started campaigning for the BJP alliance in Maharashtra, saying the party would try to get power by making “misleading statements”.
Saini, a BJP star campaign for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, campaigned for candidates in Pune during the day and will next campaign in Mumbai.
Before starting his campaign, Saini visited Mahatma Jyotiba Phule museum in Pune where he offered floral tributes to Jyotiba Phule and Savitri Bai Phule. He recalled the contribution of Phules towards education, especially the education of girls and women.
During a media briefing, Saini compared the governance of Haryana under Congress and then under BJP. “They will try to get power by making misleading statements. This is what they did in past 50 years. They are the ones who only promoted corruption, crime and wrongs in the state,” said Saini.
