Guwahati: IIM-Shillong Thursday marked its 18th foundation day with several pioneering initiatives dedicated to community development, skill enhancement and educational empowerment across the NE.
Meghalaya governor CH Vijayashankar presided over the inauguration ceremony alongside Ashish Kumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of National Stock Exchange, and BoG members including chairman Shishir Kumar Bajoria, DP Wahlang, Meghalaya chief secretary, and Prof D P Goyal, IIM-Shillong director.
The ceremony showcased three transformative initiatives — The Nurturing Minds School Adoption Initiative partnering with Quidotto Memorial RCLP School and Mawkasiang Umroh Presbyterian Secondary School in East Khasi Hills District, the Skill To Enterprise Model (STEM) program in collaboration with SIDBI, supporting 30 regional businesses and the Northeast Enterprise Empowerment Venture (NEEV) program addressing regional sustainability challenges.
The event featured two panel discussions. The first, moderated by Prof. Rohit Dwivedi, explored ‘Developing Agile Leaders’ with Ashishkumar Chauhan and Shishir Kr Bajoria. The second panel, moderated by Shri Atul Kulkarni, examined ‘Future of Work’ focused on aligning management education with industry needs.
