Gumla: Of the total of 995 polling stations across three assembly constituencies — Sisai, Gumla and Bishunpur here, 125 stations will be exclusively managed by women polling teams. This apart, nine polling booths have been classified as ‘pardanashin' (women in purdah/burqa). On Tuesday, booth level officers (BLOs) and local women welcomed the women polling personnel at their respective stations with traditional ceremonies.
The dispatch of polling materials with security coverage was completed on Tuesday for 938 polling stations. For the remaining, 57 materials were sent on Monday.
During the send-off, DC-cum-DEO Karn Satyarthi and SP Shambhu Kumar Singh assured the polling personnel of comprehensive security arrangements, encouraging them to perform their duties impartially.
The three assembly constituencies will conduct polls on November 13, with 7,92,183 registered voters.
The DEO said, "All polling parties have been dispatched for the three assembly seats. They are ready to perform their duty and polling will start from 7 am. I appeal all electorates to cast their votes. The administration has made all preparation for conducting a free and fair polling."
He added, "The security forces comprising CRPF and others have already been deployed at all critical places."
