Noida: Greater Noida Authority is set to transform the D Park in Knowledge Park 5 of Greater Noida West into a public recreational space.
In 2023, the Authority had planned to make it a Bollywood-themed "waste-to-wonder" park.
The plan was revised recently after residents of numerous high-rises and residential complexes across Greater Noida West spoke about a shortage of play spaces for children in the area. The revised project aims to create an engaging facility specifically designed for children's activities and entertainment.
The Authority has released an expression of interest (EOI) for companies which specialise in landscape and park development. Interested companies can submit their detailed proposals— which include information about previous projects, financial estimates and technical specifications— by Nov 15.
Once renovated, the 10- acre park will feature various installations like a musical fountain, play equipment, outdoor exercise facilities, walking paths and shelters, seating areas, rainwater harvesting systems among other facilities.
Noida Extension Flat Owners' Welfare Association (NEFOWA) vice-president Dipankar Kumar said, "Currently, the D park is a field with plantations where people can sit under trees' shade. It does not even have a proper jogging track. The park needs remodelling."
