Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the health and family welfare portfolio, ordered action in several complaints of medical negligence, an official spokesperson said on Monday.
They said, "Taking note of media reports of harassment, the Dy CM has sought a report from relevant officials in the suicide case of former State Innovations in Family Planning Services Project Agency (SIFPSA) steno Rajendra Kumar Joshi."
Likewise, taking note of media reports highlighting irregularities at Agra's SN Medical College, Pathak instructed the principal to take effective action and submit a report with explanations within a week.
"He emphasised that providing high-quality free healthcare services to patients is the govt's top priority. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty after the investigation report," the spokesperson said.
Pathak also ordered an investigation against Dr Rajendra Kumar, radiologist and acting chief superintendent at the district hospital in Gorakhpur, accused of corruption, improper medico-legal practices, and other serious complaints.
In addition to this, the Dy CM ordered a probe against Deputy CMO and District TB Officer of Hamirpur, Dr Deepak Mani Nayak, for not taking interest in the effective implementation of national health programmes.
The spokesperson said that principal secretary health and family welfare Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma has also been asked to investigate all these matters.
