Kanpur: Medical in-charge of a government hospital Dr Sandeep Chaudhary died when a vehicle struck his scooter from behind on Saturday night.
He was a resident of Yashoda Nagar Naubasta. Chakeri police transported him to Kanshiram Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
The deceased, aged 45, served as the medical in-charge at the Government Homeopathic Hospital in Ghoora Khet, Unnao. He is survived by his wife Neelam and two sons, Ayush and Rudra.
According to his brother-in-law, Jitendra Chanchal, Dr Chaudhary had been overseeing revision work of the voters' list.
The incident occurred around 7 pm when Dr Chaudhary was returning home after attending a BLO meeting.
As he passed through Ramadevi Chauraha, a vehicle struck his scooter with force from behind. Local residents gathered at the scene, following which police arrived and transported him to Kanshiram Hospital where he was declared dead.
Upon learning of her husband's demise, Neelam's health has deteriorated.
