Bathinda: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Ludhiana MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and his wife and party candidate for the Gidderbaha bypoll Amrita Warring have accused the Aam Aadmi Party govt in Punjab of being indifferent towards the plight of 1,158 assistant professor candidates.
These candidates, struggling for justice, endured a tragic ordeal on Sunday as several of them on their way to Gidderbaha from Amritsar were injured in a road accident and had to be admitted to a hospital. These candidates were going to Gidderbaha to protest against the govt.
Expressing his discontent, Warring said: “These men and women are not just nameless faces. They are sons and daughters of Punjab, individuals who have poured their lives into education only to be left bleeding on the streets. This is the grim reality of Bhagwant Mann’s so called people’s govt. When will the chief minister wake up and acknowledge the blood of our youth, spilled as a direct result of his flawed policies.” Amrita echoed his sentiments, criticising the Mann govt’s neglect. tnn
